The Good:They’re great to drive, comfortable and easy to park even without power steering.…and the bad? Once they start to rust it’s hard to stop them - seams are always where they go first and the engines can be under-powered.

Your engine shouldn’t sound like this! Tappit noise is common in engines of this age.
Worth checking how much oil there is in it…when you’re buying a VW T25 do listen to the engine while you’re test driving it and have a good look around the engine bay, for leaks, perished hoses etc.
